Unleashing the Power of Process Mining for Discovering and Analyzing Ad Hoc Networks
Ad hoc networks (MANETs) are dynamic and decentralized systems with diverse applications in wireless communications, social networks, and emergency response systems. Understanding and discovering the underlying structure and behavior of these networks can be challenging due to their spontaneous formation and lack of centralized control. In recent years, process mining techniques have emerged as powerful tools for analyzing and visualizing complex systems, providing valuable insight into their underlying processes. This paper explores the application of process mining techniques to uncover communication patterns, analyze performance metrics, detect anomalies and enable predictive analytics, thereby facilitating better management, optimization, and utilization of these dynamic systems. Using event logs and process discovery algorithms, we delve into the network's structure, communication patterns and emergent behavior. Real-world simulations serve as examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of process mining in uncovering ad hoc networks, shedding light on their functioning, and supporting informed decision-making. The study aims to unleash the power of process mining, enhancing the understanding and analysis of ad hoc networks and leading to improved performance, reliability and security in these decentralized environments.
